Domaine seigneurial Sainte-Anne

Au cours de ses trois siècles d'histoire, trois célèbres personnages ont habité le Domaine seigneurial. Rencontrez la fougueuse Madeleine de Verchères, seigneuresse de Sainte-Anne entre 1706 et 1747. Découvrez Élizabeth Hale, l'épouse bourgeoise d'un politicien et une artiste à qui l'on doit de nombreux croquis du village. Et, finalement, croisez Honoré Mercier, Premier ministre du Québec à la fin du 19e siècle, qui fit du manoir sa résidence secondaire. Enfin, terminez votre visite en parcourant les superbes jardins, un lieu idéal pour pique-niquer.

Sainte-Anne Seignorial Domain

Throughout its three centuries of history, three famous people inhabited the seignorial domain. Meet Madeleine de Verchères, the feisty landlady from 1706 to 1747. Be introduced to Elizabeth Hale, a politician's aristocratic wife and an artist whose drawings illustrate the village as it was during the first half of the 19th century. Bump into Honoré Mercier, Québec Prime Minister from 1887 to 1891. The manor was his country home. In his days, the splendid estate, which he called Domaine Tourouvre, hosted many lavish receptions. End your visit with a quiet stroll in the magnificent gardens, the ideal picnic spot.
