Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra

We are a community orchestra of about 50 amateur musicians. We rehearse every Monday from September to May and give four to eight concerts each season. One of our goals is to perform for people who might not otherwise hear a live orchestral performance. The concerts we give at local hospitals and seniors' residences support this goal. Another goal is to feature local soloists by performing with them at our May concert. Over the years, we've invited quite a number of emerging musicians as our solists for this concert.

Each of our performances includes classical and popular music. The music covers a wide range: we play symphonies, operettas, Strauss waltzes, traditional and modern Christmas selections, and music from shows.

The musicians of the Edmonton Philharmonic are committed to providing enjoyable performances for audiences and musicians alike. We are musicians at play.
40th Anniversary Celebration!
On Monday, October 3, 2011, members and former members of the Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate 40 years of playing and performing. The evening will start at 6:00 with a complimentary light supper and lots of reminiscing. We'll then set up for a short program (this will include storytelling) and finish with some sight-reading. Former members should bring their instruments and music stands. Anyone who hasn't received an invitation by email or regular mail should contact Janice at dbhoff@telusplanet.net or (780) 456-0693 by September 17 if they'd like to attend.
